Chocoholics Anonymous-Rice Krispies Scotcheroos

Easy, delicious, more please! What more can a gal say about the union of two perfect foods, peanut butter and chocolate. Recently one of my favorite bloggers, Marie at Make and Takes, inspired me to whip up an oldie but a goodie, Rice Krispies Scotcheroos. So I present for this weeks Chocoholics Anonymous this classic recipe, enjoy.
Rice Krispies Scotcheroos

1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup sugar
1 cup peanut butter
6 cups
Rice Krispies®
1 package (6 oz., 1 cup) semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1 cup butterscotch chips

Directions 1. Place corn syrup and sugar into 3-quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until sugar dissolves and mixture begins to boil. Remove from heat. Stir in peanut butter. Mix well. Add KELLOGG'S RICE KRISPIES cereal. Stir until well coated. Press mixture into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray. Set aside.2. Melt chocolate and butterscotch chips together in 1-quart saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly. Spread evenly over cereal mixture. Let stand until firm. Cut into 2 x 1-inch bars when cool.

ooh I love those. Have you ever made indoor s'mores? I think the recipe is still on the side of the golden graham cereal box. Definitely a chocolate lovers friend!

I make these using hershey bars on top instead! But then I decided to get creative because they are a family favorite and I always made them the same... YEARS and YEARS. Finally, breaking out of the mold, we've used chunky peanut butter, banana chips smashed up and added to the mix, or even a thin layer of the krispies mix, followed by either a layer of grape jelly or a layer of marshmallow fluff, then topped with the rest of the krispies and chocolate. Hey, just figured I share some different options! They were all awesome!!
